EU weight-management indication

According to the EMA, Mounjaro is indicated alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for adults with a BMI of at least 30 kg/m², or 27 to under 30 kg/m² when at least one weight-related comorbidity is present.

How it differs from Wegovy

Wegovy contains semaglutide and acts on the GLP-1 receptor. Mounjaro contains tirzepatide and acts on GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Choice should not be based only on expected weight loss. Safety, tolerance, medical history and availability also matter.
